  • Overview

    Successful candidate will provide EPASS Advisory and Assistance Services to the Battle Management Directorate (AFLCMC/HB) at the AF Life-Cycle Management Center (previously the Electronic Systems Center). The projects we are supporting are: HBB-FOG, HBM Integration Group.  This position will have to interface with a team of military, Government civilian, contractor project managers and FFRDC/A&AS support personnel in the day-to-day activities associated with management of HB’s projects, programs and initiatives.




    Ranges from, Level II: BA/BS, 10 years of experience (3 yrs DoD); or  15 years of directly relatable experience (5 DoD);  to Level III: Advanced Degree (MA/MS) and 12 years of experience (5 years DoD), or BA/BS degree, and 15 years of experience (5 years DoD), or 20 years of directly related experience with proper certifications (8 DoD).


    Note: Oasis has some flexibility to swap experience for degree requirements and vice-versa.

    IT Certifications are a plus.



    Position Location(s): Hanscom AFB/Langley AFB

    Travel: Occasional CONUS/OCONUS travel may be required.



    Secret clearance (depending on location); or as a minimum, the ability to obtain a clearance




    The successful candidate will provide technical expertise for system safety engineering IAW the current version of MIL-STD-882, DoD Standard Practice, System Safety, integrating technical processes, applying engineering and management principles, criteria, and techniqued to help programs identify their design-related hazards and devise ways to mitigate the risks associated with them. If residual risks cannot be completely eliminated, system safety engineers advise on implementation of the Risk Acceptance (RA) process, thereby achieving acceptable mishap risk, within the constraints of operational effectiveness and suitability, time, and cost, throughout all phases of the system life cycle. The successful candidate will complete Navy WISE System Safety Training (Catalogs A & B are mandatory and C & D are optional, but highly encouraged) within 90 days of appointment, or next available training opportunity.

    The successful candidate will provide Systems Safety support services including, but not limited to:

    • Performing hazard identification, hazard training and risk assessments for all aspects of the weapon system
    • Preparing, reviewing and analyzing OSS&E baseline documentation
    • Preparing, reviewing and analyzing Environmental Safety and Occupational Health (ESOH) and Programmatic Environmental Safety and Health Evaluation (PESHE), documentation
    • Reviewing and analyzing Safety Hazard Analyses
    • Reviewing and analyzing System Safety Plans
    • Reviewing and analyzing Statements of Work (SOW), System Requirements Document (SRD) and Contract Data Requirements List (CDRL) and other program documentation
    • Participating in System Safety Working Groups (SSWGs)


    General Responsibilities:

    • Works with assigned administrative, and matrixed acquisition support, financial management, engineering contracting, configuration and data management, and other staff.
    • Works with the Oasis Task Lead and Oasis teammates to document processes, and initiate and implement AFSO21 Rapid Improvement Events, Training Events and mentoring sessions for all task personnel.
    • Responsible for developing Integrated Master Schedule inputs, and tracking and reporting on Progress for assigned program(s).
    • Develops, reviews, and approves plans, schedules, and other technical documentation.
    • Facilitates and supports Division meetings and reviews, team building, strategic planning, and other on- and off-site activities.
    • Assists as needed in preparing and reviewing program/project documentation, e.g. Determinations and Findings, Justifications and Approvals, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statement Of Objectives (SOOs), Statements-of-Work (SOWs), Program Implementation Packages (PiPs), Performance Works Statements (PWS), Systems/Technical Requirements Documents (SRD/TRD), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Program Support Agreements (PSA), EMAs, 1067s, etc. and assist in source selections.
    • Performs other duties as required.
