  • Overview

    Provide Work Unit & Program Management support to the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Eglin AFB, FL.



      • Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of experience.
      • Prefer prior AF experience with highly technical programs, working with scientists and engineers.
      • Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, as well as various AF finance programs/databases.
      • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel, maintaining multiple spreadsheets & tracking financial information.
      • Excellent customer service experience and skills.
      • MUst have an active US security clearance




    • Provide program management assistance and advisory services for several automated Microsoft access tools, any replacement tools, and their interconnectivity with external systems such as RWITS, Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Enterprise Business System (EBS), (e.g. Clarity, CCAR, COGNOS, the AFRL Data Repository (ADR)) and JOCAS.
    • Provide Work Unit Management support for AFRL/RW, advising and assisting government Program Managers (PMs) on a daily basis in developing, creating, approving, closing, maintaining, and reporting on work units specific to the PMs case file programs in accordance with DoD and AF regulations and public laws.

    • Provide advice and assistance by independently reviewing and analyzing data requirements on programs to assure the specific types of data that will satisfy government needs are acquired. 

    • Provide Clarity/COGNOS management support for AFRL/RW. 

    • Accomplish all tasks associated with creating work units within Clarity, approving work units and transmitting data to JOCAS, notifying program managers of their status, and closing work units. 

    • Maintain work units ensuring the integrity of the data at all times, and processing reports for all customers regarding Unified Research and Engineering Database (URED) status, contractor/contract information, case file close out, research summary, unapproved work units, Laboratory Management Review (LMR) status, missing paperwork and missing fields. 

    • Ensure permissions are set appropriately within Clarity and COGNOS. Maintain expert familiarity with the requirements and programs within Clarity/COGNOS/JOCAS data systems.

    • Conduct training sessions on Clarity, COGNOS, Work Unit requirements for Directorate on an as-needed basis.

    • Provide acquisition management advisory and assistance expertise for preparation of memos, briefings, and reports related to work unit management and participate in selected Directorate meetings.

    • Advise and assist AFRL/RW Work Unit managers to keep abreast of current policy, procedures, standardization, and streamlining initiatives applicable to data management and recommend changes as needed.

    • Coordinate with RWOR case file and STINFO manager for transition of work from one station (work unit) through to the final technical report (STINFO).

    • Provide advice and assistance to AFRL/RW with transmitting training data to HQ AFRL for statistical analysis.

    • Assist with review and data analysis on work unit statistics within RW. 

    • Provide advice and recommendations for process improvements to the RWOR branch chief for work unit management as member of analysis and improvement team of work unit processes.

    • Assists with other administrative tasks as needed/assigned.
