  • Overview

Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full time Systems Engineer to provide engineering support to the Reliability and Maintainability Information Systems (REMIS) program office, which is within the Business Enterprise Services (BES) Directorate at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH.

REMIS is the primary AF Enterprise Maintenance data system for collecting, validating, standardizing, integrating and reporting equipment inventory, CFO reporting, status, utilization, configuration, Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO), Time Change/Inspection (TC/I) and maintenance data on an integrated global basis (crossing weapon systems, equipment types, data systems and Major Commands).

REMIS consists of a fully integrated relational database providing a single source of all reportable current and historical AF weapon system data. REMIS is a CFO financial feeder system that provides accounting/accountability of all AF aerospace vehicles, Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles and Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM).

A requirement has been established for REMIS’ modernization to create a modern, open architecture Enterprise Maintenance System that is totally portable to any AF or DoD hosting environment and involves conversion of Common Business Oriented Language/Structured Common Business Oriented Language (COBOL/SCOBOL) code and C++ code to Java Enterprise Edition code.

Modernization of the software and hardware also includes re-hosting the REMIS Web Application from the Global Combat Support System-Air Force Integration Framework (GCSS-AF IF) at Gunter Annex, Maxwell Air Force Base (AFB) to the REMIS Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) Computer Processing Facility (CPF).

The final product provides the AF with a modernized and portable Enterprise Maintenance Information System capable of being hosted as directed on a Common Computing Environment (CCE).
