    MAR Division of Oasis Systems has an exciting opportunity for a General Vessel Assistant (Engineer) to provide all technical support services, including research and development, maintenance, operation, and support of facilities and systems, and equipment to meet the engineering development testing and fleet training mission.

    LOCATION: Key West, Florida

    EXPERIENCE LEVEL: A minimum eight (8) years total of experience related to their position description with at least 2 years of total experience as Captain/Master.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree or 6 years’ additional work experience.  Associate’s Degree plus 4 years’ additional work experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.

    CERTIFICATIONS AND TOOLS: Current Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) certification, and Merchant Mariners Document.  Ordnance handling certification is required.

    SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

    JOB STATUS: Full-Time upon contract award.

    TRAVEL: May be required to travel to throughout the United States, Caribbean, and other parts of the world.

    RESPONSIBILITIES: Functionally, the successful candidate will:

    • Responsible for the operation and maintenance of all engines, motors, electrical, sewage and water systems.
    • Perform a variety of duties concerned with the operation, maintenance, repair, and cleaning of equipment and facilities in the deck, engine, and steward department areas.


    QUALIFICATIONS: This candidate must have experience with the following:

    • Must have a US Coast Guard license as Engineer of vessels of 4000hp and must be able to qualify for ordnance handling certification, 500 Ton license required.
    • A minimum 5 years’ experience in operations and/or maintenance of diesel powered vessels greater than 500hp including at least 1 year of experience shall be as Chief Engineer of vessels of similar size and horsepower while holding DDE 4000 license.  
    • Must have experience safely operating a 192’ Offshore Support Vessel (OSV) and a 100’ offshore support vessel (RETRIEVER).
    • Man and operate several inshore support vessels including, but not limited to 9M RHIB, and an 18’ Boston Whaler.

    Must Have the Following Certifications:

    • Current Standards of Training
    • Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers (STCW) certification
    • National Master for 500 Tons
    • Ordinance handling certification
    • Merchant Mariner Documents required
