Overview

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

This position will support the technical integration and troubleshooting of the end-to-end infrastructure supporting the Defense Enterprise Accounting Management System (DEAMS) program at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, OH.

Of particular importance, the engineer will be knowledgeable about upgrading to and maintaining an Oracle Supercluster environment and Oracle version R12. The end-to-end infrastructure includes, but is not limited to, the software and hardware associated with the user desktop, networks (e.g., hubs, routers, switches, service delivery point), security components (e.g., DISA servers, firewalls, proxy servers), DISA infrastructure services (e.g., Apache servers, Enterprise Service Bus (ESB, Silanis), FTP and sFTP services, messaging services, web services), and DEAMS infrastructure (e.g., Oracle Supercluster, BPEL, SOA, DIMES).

 

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:                               

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other applicable Engineering discipline and 5+ years of experience
  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Supporting and Troubleshooting large scale information systems (Required)

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems and Database application (Required)

  • Detailed working knowledge of Unix (specifically Solaris O/S), Linux, and Windows (Required)

  • Knowledge and experience with the following (Required):

    • Oracle EBS 11i and R12
    • Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC)
    • Oracle SOA Suite
    • Automatic Storage Management (ASM)

    Oracle Database Certified Professional (Preferred)

  • Experience as an Oracle DBA working in large, multiple instance development enclaves (Preferred)

  • Experience managing more than ten instances of an ERP, tracking and reporting status of the instances in the enclave, coordinating with customers/owners of the instances, working with Configuration Management, performing ERP and peripheral module installs, upgrades, clones, maintenance, and shutdowns (Preferred)

  • Intermediate to advanced shell scripting capabilities (Preferred)

  • Working knowledge of Configuration Management processes and practices (Required)

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in writing with clarity and accuracy (Required)

  • Ability to keep up with changing priorities in a fast pace environment (Required)

  • Candidate should possess one of the following Industry Certifications; Security +, Network+, GSEC, SSCP, CCNA, CISA, GCIH, CISSP or CISSP (Associate).

  • Candidate must be able to obtain, and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (Active Secret Clearance Required).

 

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Candidate will participate in the Infrastructure IPT comprised of GCSS-AF, DEAMS, AFNIC (CITS and Standard Desktop Configuration), DISA, and other relevant infrastructure providers.
  • Candidate will establish a clear understanding of the infrastructure software and hardware components supporting DEAMS and plan the technical changes for the R12 upgrade and migration to the next generation computing environment.
  • Candidate will work with the Infrastructure IPT to troubleshoot the problems, conduct root-cause analyses, develop corrective action plans, ensure corrective action plans are implemented by the appropriate activity owners, and report on the status of the resolutions to DEAMS management.
  • Candidate will work with supporting organization to achieve the timely origination of computing instances to support user requirements.
  • Candidate will report and document status of the various instances of the ERP in the enclave.
  • Candidate will work with Engineering and Program Management to translate strategic goals and requirements for infrastructure upgrades and improvements into detailed technical plans for implementation.
